When reaction to a certain painting is exceptional, we choose to make it into a fine art reproduction so it can be  available to more people and at a lower price than the original.

The limited edition lithographs  are signed and numbered, which makes them more valuable to collectors.  Lithographs are one of the oldest, most respected, and durable processes for reproducing fine art work.

We also offer 8 x 10 open edition images of these reproductions for those who need smaller, and perhaps less expensive pieces.  I am happy to sign them upon request.

GICLEE’ REPRODUCTIONS

Giclee’ ( pronounced “zhee-clay”) is a relatively new process for producing fine quality art reproductions from a digital source using ink-jet printers.  The proper Giclee’ process calls for using acid free paper and  archival inks for works of art that are as long lasting and as lightfast as lithographs.  As with any two dimensional work of art, however, they should never be exposed to direct sunlight or other bright lights for any length of time as fading could occur. Many of my offerings using this process are open editions.

I would be remiss if I did not tell you that there are those with home computers using cheaper inks and non-acid free paper who are incorrectly calling their reproduced works Giclee’s.  It would be wise to ask about the process before investing in reproductions.
